NEW! Child Psychiatrist opening in Waco, TX! We are looking for an on-site permanent psychiatrist. Inpatient only, no out-patient. Though part of the state hospital system, we are a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PTRF) and not an acute care hospital, the program is generally 6-9 months. We serve kids from the whole state. We have a budgeted census of 74, though our census was lowered to 55 at the outset of the pandemic. We currently have 40 kids on campus and the psychiatrist would have ½ of those. We have a plan to get our census back to 60ish by the end of April. We currently have one on-site psychiatrist who is our medical director and a locums. Salary for a Psych III is $245,000. Since we are an PRTC, we have a slower pace than a hospital. The psychiatrist generally sees all of their kids each week in treatment team, but individually on a set schedule dictated by TAC.
